On Friday 2 June, Porsche Centre Sheffield welcomed the infamous entrepreneur, fashion designer, TV presenter and prolific Porsche Collector Magnus Walker to his hometown of Sheffield for the signing of his very first book: Urban Outlaw – Dirt Don’t Slow You Down.
With over 250 enthusiasts congregating in the Centre, Porsche Centre Sheffield was the perfect environment for the truly inspirational and humble northern icon to meet with fans that had travelled far and wide for this very moment, to talk to Magnus about his impressive journey to stardom.
In his laid back manner and signature attire, Magnus answered questions from the audience and shared his compelling tale of how pure determination and inspiration led him from the steel town of Sheffield to the dazzling hills of Hollywood. Sharing how his love for Porsche first blossomed, a truly touching father and son moment at Earls Court Motor Show in 1977 ignited the Porsche passion and has led to his impressive collection of vintage Porsche cars which is one of the pillars to his empire.
James Bridge, Centre Principal at Porsche Centre Sheffield commented: “We feel extremely privileged to have been the chosen venue to host Magnus’s book signing for the northern part of his tour. I’m sure many will agree Magnus is an absolute inspiration to an extensive audience and many can relate to his story whether it’s the struggles he experienced in Sheffield to the pure grit and determination to follow his dreams in the US, but not forgetting his Yorkshire roots. Magnus certainly lives and breathes his morals and one of those is 'Get out and drive', something that resonates amongst the team at Sheffield and our customers.”
