The new 911 Cabriolet.

Timeless Machine. The new 911 Cabriolet.

09/1/2019

Six weeks after the launch of the new Porsche 911 Coupé, today sees Porsche announce the new 911 Cabriolet models. The new Cabriolet models echo the timeless and contemporary design of the Coupé, remaining unmistakably a Porsche 911 in Cabriolet form.

Both models, 911 Carrera S Cabriolet and 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet, rely on a six-cylinder boxer engine with 450 PS at 6,500 rpm and 530 Nm torque between 2,300 and 5,000 rpm. The drive efficiency has increased and emissions reduced by way of the improved injection process; other optimisation measures have also been implemented, such as a new layout for the turbochargers and charge air cooling system. The power is delivered by a newly developed eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. The Carrera S accelerates from zero to 62 mph in 3.9 seconds and can reach speeds up to 190 mph.*

The fully automatic fabric roof features an integrated glass rear screen, as well as an electric wind deflector, making it well-equipped – whatever the weather. A new hydraulic system means, the roof opens and closes even quicker and smoother. The new hydraulics also deliver an additional weight optimisation.

For the first time, the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) sports chassis is also available for the 911 Carrera S Cabriolet models, with the suspension lowered by ten millimetres. The springs are harder and shorter; the anti-roll bars at the front and rear axles are even stiffer. Therefore, the vehicle maintains a more neutral level of contact with the road, creating a more balanced feel – yet without limiting the car’s suitability for everyday use essentially.

The new 911 Cabriolet models are available for order today. You can discover more here or contact our Centre for more information.
